Public transit via VTA Light Rail is the most convenient option for international visitors. Allow 1.5-2 hours travel time from downtown San Francisco.

Transfer to VTA Light Rail Orange Line at Mountain View station. Great America station is adjacent to stadium.

Driving Directions

  • From San Francisco: US-101 S, exit Great America Parkway
  • From San Jose: US-101 N, exit Great America Parkway
  • From East Bay: I-880 to US-101 N
  • From Peninsula: US-101 to Great America exit

Allow 1-2 hours extra for traffic on game days. Stadium is visible from US-101.

Parking Information

  • Accessible Parking: Red Lot 1 (first-come, first-serve)
  • Requirements: Parking pass + DMV Disabled Person Placard/Plate
  • Directed Parking: Required for all lots - follow stadium staff
  • Shuttle Service: Red Lot 7, Pink Lots 4/5, Green Lot 8

Bike & Scooter

  • FREE Bike Valet: Gate A & Gate C (NFL); Gate C only (non-NFL)
  • Accepted: Cargo bikes, e-bikes, kick/electric scooters, small mobility devices
  • Hours: Opens 3 hours before event, closes 1 hour after
  • Provider: Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC)
  • Access: San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail and nearby roadways

SVBC staff check bikes in/out and watch bikes throughout the game. Highly recommended eco-friendly option.

Rideshare & Taxi

Connects from Sacramento area and East Bay. Plan additional transportation from station to stadium.

Traffic & Timing Tips

  • Arrive 2-3 hours early for major events to avoid traffic
  • Check real-time traffic before leaving
  • Public transit recommended for sold-out events
  • Post-event delays: Expect 30-45 min to exit parking
  • Download parking pass to your phone before arrival

  • Mobile passes must be visible and ready to scan at entry
  • Limited day-of-event spaces on first-come, first-served basis
  • Reserving spaces NOT permitted
  • Credit card lots limited on event day - pre-purchase recommended
  • No refunds for lost, stolen, or unused passes (only event cancellations)

Violation Warning: Failure to observe parking policies may result in ticket/parking revocation and/or ejection.

Stadium tailgating policies (social tradition of gathering in stadium parking lots to eat, drink, socialize)

  • One Car = One Space: Tailgating limited to your lined parking space and directly behind/in front of vehicle
  • Keep all tables, chairs, coolers, BBQs within your parking stall
  • Tents/canopies max 244cmx244cm (8'×8') footprint; vehicles max 549cm (18') length × 244cm (8') width
  • Drive lanes must stay clear - blocking prohibited for emergency access
  • Do not block ADA paths including hash-marked areas and walkways
  • Tailgating ceases after kickoff
  • No glass containers in ANY lot
  • No amplified sound - non-compliance = ejection without compensation
  • Portable toilets located throughout lots
  • Outside catering companies not permitted
  • Illegal sales/distribution of food and beverages prohibited
  • Dispose waste in proper trash, recycling, and hot coal containers
